Sexual orientation is not something we choose or a phase, but is rather something which is formed within us.

There is no conclusive evidence to establish why someone is born heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, or transgender. It is important not to stereotype or label your children. Instead to allow them to define their own sexuality.

Dismissing your child’s identity as a phase will make it seem like you are not taking them seriously or supporting them. If your child tells you that they are LGBT+, please take their word for it.
