Rally to Mark the International Day Against Homophobia

BeLonG To are staging a rally in Dublin city centre on Sunday, May 17, 2009. The rally will mark the International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO), which is now in its seventh year.
The rally will take place at 2.45pm at The Spire on O’Connell Street on Sunday, May 17. There will be balloons to release! and Irish IDAHO cards to distribute!
Confirmed speakers at the event include Senator Ivana Bacik, local elections candidate Lisa Connell, Transgender Equality Network Ireland, along with members of the BeLonG To.
International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO) wants to create a worldwide community free of homophobia and transphobia.
In many parts of the world, LGBT people are imprisoned and murdered for who they are.
In Ireland LGBT people young people continue to be bullied and harassed in their schools and communities.
