What is Belong To’s Youth Advisory Panel?

Belong To’s Youth Advisory Panel is a group of LGBTQ+ young people who come together to support Belong To in achieving our vision of a society where LGBTQ+ young people are equal, safe and thriving.

Supported by Belong To, members of the Youth Advisory Panel are empowered to:

  • highlight topics that matter to you and make an impact in these areas.

How is Belong To’s Youth Advisory Panel structured?

A group of LGBTQ+ young people aged 16-23 from across Ireland make up Belong To’s Youth Advisory Panel. The Youth Advisory Panel is supported by two members of Belong To’s staff team, the Policy & Participation Coordinator and Youth Participation Worker.

Belong To’s Youth Advisory Panel will meet three times per year, with a mix of online and in-person meetings. At least one meeting per year will be in person in Dublin.

Travel expenses for in-person meetings will be refunded by Belong To.

Each meeting will involve a skills-based training session, a focused workshop on one of Belong To’s campaign areas and a chance to network with like-minded LGBTQ+ young people.
