Youth Engagement Volunteer

Belong To’s vision is for an Ireland where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) young people are equal, safe, and valued in the diversity of their identities and experiences. We work with LGBTQ+ young people as equals to achieve our vision through youth work, changing attitudes, and research.
The purpose of this volunteer role is to assist and support youth workers in Belong To to engage with young people in our weekly groups. These groups meet Monday to Thursday at 6.00pm for 2 hours in our offices in Parliament Street Dublin 1. The exception is our Wednesday group which meets at 5.30 in the Ombudsman for Childrens Office on Strand Street Dublin 1. The Belong To Sunday group is currently paused but may restart and meets in Outhouse on Capel Street Dublin 1 on Sundays between 3.00pm to 6.00pm. We are ideally looking for volunteers who have had direct experience working or volunteering alongside young people in a group settling in the past, and who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of LGBTQ+ young people.
