We know that LGBTQ+ young people can face challenges and stresses as they navigate their day to day life. This webinar is a space for you to learn how to best support and understand their needs.
Belong To and Pieta will host a free online webinar for parents and carers of LGBTQ+ young people. At this event, members of Belong To’s Family Support Team and the clinical team from Pieta will share advice and guidance on how to support young people through challenges faced growing up LGBTQ+.
When: Wednesday, 8 October 2025 from 7pm to 8pm.
What will be covered?
The webinar will cover mental health challenges, and how to support LGBTQ+ young people through them, including:
- Proactively managing good mental wellbeing.
- Common challenges facing LGBTQ+ young people.
- Practical support with self-esteem, self-doubt and managing anxiety.
- Information on services and supports available for LGBTQ+ young people and their families.

This event is registration only and will last 1 hour. There will be an opportunity for attendees to put some of their questions to our panel of experts.

This event is taking place as part of the Belong To #BetterOutThanIn campaign which encourages LGBTQ+ young people to open up about how they are feeling and drive awareness of the importance of reaching out for help.
